As part of our World Around Us topic, ‘Let’s Get Growing,’ the girls and boys were discussing different things that help them to grow up big and strong. They told us that drinking water, exercising and eating healthy food are very important. We made fruit smoothies and they tasted so good!
We also had our annual visit of the chicks, thanks to Diane. The children all had an opportunity to hold or stroke the chicks and they loved it. This gave us the chance to discuss and learn about the lifecycle of a chicken. We discovered how a chicken begins as an egg, hatches into a chick and grows into an adult hen. Watching the chicks up close helped us understand each stage of the lifecycle.
